    Help! My Kids Won’t Listen! Part 2

    1. Move within a foot of your child.
    2. Get on your child’s eye level.
    3. Use a friendly tone of voice.
    4. Touch.
    5. Say the child’s name once, and only once.
    6. Don’t continue talking until you have your child’s attention.
    7. When you have your child’s attention, make your request in a friendly voice.
    8. Say what you need to say in a short sentence.
    9. Be friendly, but firm at the same time.
    10. Eliminate pleading words and tone.
    11. Have kids repeat your request in a friendly way.
